The external TPMS sensor features a Valve cap sensor design that is light weight at 9.6g with replaceable battery design. It is made of high wear resistance plastic that is waterproof and has a anti- disengaging design. Does not require tyre rotate and balancing after installation.

The internal TPMS sensor features a anti wear design and uses a military battery for longer lifespan usage. Discreet after installation as it is installed internally to the tires

The external TPMS allows users to DIY install and replace its sensor batteries. The internal sensors however require professional installation and the batteries for the sensor cannot be replaced; the users have to purchase a new sensor piece.

While both sensors can be replaced if faulty, only the external TPMS sensors' batteries can be replaced whereas the internal TPMS sensors' batteries are not replacable.

Internal sensor has a average lifespan of 5 years (built in military battery not changeable)
external sensor has a average lifespan of 1-3 years (battery interchangeable)

Steelmate uses monocrystalline solar panel which is a higher grade of material for solar panel, making it efficient and enjoys a longest lasting lifespan.

If your vehicle has existing TPMS that is synced electronically we will not reccomend doing so as there might be signal interference if you get another after market TPMS system installed. This will also cause your check light on your vehicle to light up as your current ECU wont be able to detect the original TPMS system and this problem will not be resolvable.

It will take approximately 5 mins of no movement before the display turns to screen saver.

Steelmate TPMS utilizes FSK signal transmission which is also used in our alarm system for the most accurate reading!

The parking sensors are activated when

Front parking sensors : when brake is stepped on
Rear Parking sensors : when reverse gear is selected

Optional switch can be added on at a nominal charge so parking sensors will only be activated when switch is turned on.
